What a month!
The studio was closed for the part of the month as we were off on vacation. A ten day roadtrip around Kentucky/Tenesse - with stops in Indiana and Ohio. We even went to Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, TN. That's right - an entire Dolly Parton themed park.
Phew. Once recovered, the studio was re-opened in preparation for Yarn Harvest Yarn Crawl 2012. For those of you who may not know, Yarn Harvest is the brainchild of the Fraser Valley Knitting Guild. Yarn-lovers from around the Vancouver and Fraser Valley area spend the day trekking from shop to shop.
As part of the fun, Glenda of Wet Coast Wools invited us to have a trunk show to showcase our new self-striping sock yarn. Thanks to Glenda for the pictures!
It was so nice to meet local yarn enthusiasts who made Wet Coast Wools one of their stops. I'm hoping to see some of these faces at KnitCity next month. Speaking of which, we're totally excited for the first ever fibre festival in Vancouver! The event will run from October 13 - 14. We'll be there so come say hi!
Still lots of prep to do for our first big event. We got our poster back from the printer and it is waaaay bigger than I thought. My husband was surprised by my admission (Him: Didn't you have the dimensions before you ordered it? Me: Yes, but it looked smaller when I imagined it.) Not sure how to display it, but we'll figure it out.
And finally - but certainly not least - we got our puppy! She is a BC Guide Dog pup and we will be raising her for the next year until she moves onto advanced training. She is a lot of fun and at 11 weeks, has a ton of energy. Meet Pammy!
