As the newest addition to the RainCityKnits family, I thought it would be appropriate to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Sarah, and I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to call Krista my best friend for nearly 20 years. I’ve been thrilled to watch her success thus far with RainCityKnits, so when she told me that she needed some help maintaining a strong online presence since she was so busy dyeing yarn, I jumped at the chance.
So, who am I and what am I going to bring to the table? Well, some of you may have already met me at Fibres West or Knit City –the tall blonde delivering high-fives and smiles to all willing passers by. Being that we’re basically attached at the hip, some have said that Krista and I are two peas in a pod. There’s definitely some truth to that, although I would have to say that I’m the louder (and more crass) pea. I’m a tea-swilling, philosophy-talkin’, tattoo lovin’, tune-beltin’, creative writin’, meditatin’, rock ‘n’ rollin’, East Van dwellin’ vegan.
Oh yeah, and I like to knit stuff. I may also secretly be a nerd. Check out this dwarven battle helm that I made for the Hobbit premiere last year, and you tell me.
I’m looking forward to becoming a regular contributor on this blog and on the RainCityKnits facebook group. I’ll have lots more to say not only on knitting, but also on Vancouver urban lifestyle and the kinds of things that make Krista and I tick. So, hello! I look forward to getting to know you and introducing you to the quirky, sassy, and ridiculous side of RainCityKnits.
