Those of you with a keen eye may have noticed something new. Yes, it's a new logo for RainCityKnits.
Our fancy new look was created by Michelle Mez. A very talented photographer, graphic designer and digital watercolourist based out of Toronto.
In fact, it was Michelle who initially approached me to offer her design services. Her portfolio was impressive and we even met briefly in Toronto at the Frolic so I knew she was a real person. However, what really sold me on her out-of-the-blue offer was that she suggested yarn as payment!
I'd already been considering a new logo, one full of colour that better represented our brand. So when she approached me with her talent and her obvious passion for knitting, this partnership felt right. I think the end result really speaks for itself.
And if you'll allow me to be sentimental for a moment, I'll tell you that this new look fells like a milestone in our journey as a business.
When I started dyeing wool for RainCityKnits, I envisioned a collection of super saturated bright colours. I knew that were already many talented indie dyers out there producing gorgeous skeins, however I didn't see anyone else doing what I had in mind. Bright colours, luxury bases!
A few years later , with our third (!) Knit City just around the corner and literally thousands of our skeins out there in the world, I feel a sense of joy. I'm so grateful for what this little dream has turned into already and excited for what's next for us.
So thank you, thank you, thank you for all your support. It really means so very much.
